VetBizWeek 2026 Offers 3 Days of No-Cost Business Training, Expert Guidance, and Networking for Veterans and Military Families

Nov 5, 2026

November 10–12 virtual conference features military-connected business experts, helpful toolkits, advanced AI training, one-on-one coaching, and a special Veterans Day presentation.

AUSTIN, TX, November 05, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Transition Skills Training, an Austin-based nonprofit dedicated to helping veterans and military families build successful futures, will host VetBizWeek 2026 – a virtual small business conference, November 10–12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

VetBizWeek brings together experienced instructors, successful entrepreneurs, and subject matter experts to help aspiring and existing business owners start, strengthen, and grow their businesses—and navigate the challenges that come with business ownership.

The conference welcomes veterans, active-duty service members, military families and first responders nationwide. All sessions and resources are provided at no cost.

"Starting a business is often the easy part. It's navigating everything that comes afterward that can be really challenging," said CJ Niehoff, Executive Director of Transition Skills Training. "Business owners need more than information. They need practical tools, experienced people they can turn to, and a network of others who understand what they're managing day-to-day. That's what we work to provide through our training, and it's part of what makes VetBizWeek different."

Practical Training for Every Stage of Business
VetBizWeek offers expert-led sessions covering essential topics for entrepreneurs and small business owners, including:
• Starting or rebuilding a business
• Exploring small business funding options
• Artificial intelligence, with sessions for beginners and advanced users
• Marketing, customer development and brand building
• Government procurement and contracting opportunities
• Business planning and strategy sessions
• Small business bookkeeping and financial management

The 3-day virtual gathering features experienced, military-connected business owners, educators, and industry specialists, including Maria Duron, a military brat and national speaker for Grow With Google; Marc Boudria, Chief Innovation Officer at Better Engineer, who will lead a two-hour advanced AI session; Vicky Valdez, Founder of LoneStar Foundation & Professor of Entrepreneurship at Austin Community College; procurement specialist Kayla S. Bey, Principal with Visio Clara Consulting; and Joana Linares, military spouse and owner of Enumerista bookkeeping service.

Air Force veteran, entrepreneur, and former Bachelorette contestant Mike Johnson will speak about his own entrepreneurial journey. Mike is the Founder & CEO of OSHUN Goat Milk Soap and will give a morning brief on Day 3 about resilience, reinvention, and building a business after military service.

All sessions will emphasize practical, actionable information instead of lengthy lectures or slide decks. There will be no pushy sales presentations - in fact, there will be no sales at all. There will be nothing to purchase or pay for during or after the event.

Participants can attend the topics most relevant to their needs without committing to three full days. One registration provides and All-Access Pass to the entire conference, allowing participants to drop in for individual sessions, explore new topics, and take advantage of helpful resources throughout the event.

More Than Training: Tools, Experts and Meaningful Networking
What sets VetBizWeek apart is an emphasis on helping participants apply what they learn while building a network of people and resources they can lean into as their businesses evolve.

Toolkits for Every Topic
Every training topic includes a practical toolkit featuring templates, guides, forms, helpful software resources, and other materials participants can use long after the conference ends.

Daily Morning Briefing
Each day begins with a morning briefing featuring participant success stories, special guests and an overview of the day's activities.

3pm Office Hours | Ask An Expert
Afternoons always conclude with Office Hours, offering participants a chance to connect with business coaches and subject matter experts, ask questions, discuss challenges, and receive personalized guidance.

Flexible Networking
Unlike a traditional webinar, VetBizWeek uses an interactive virtual conference environment designed to encourage participation and networking. Attendees can create profiles featuring their businesses, connect with other entrepreneurs in a virtual lobby, exchange ideas and meet in virtual rooms for more focused, private conversations.

Attend from Anywhere
VetBizWeek is designed to be accessible from anywhere in the country, including rural communities where in-person business training and networking opportunities may be limited.

"One of the most powerful parts of our classes is the networking that happens between participants," Niehoff added. "People come for training, but they also find encouragement, new perspectives, potential collaborators, and people who can help them solve problems down the road. Those relationships are a testament to why our approach works. We want people to leave VetBizWeek with useful knowledge, but also knowing they're not navigating business ownership alone."

Special Veterans Day Presentation: Honoring the Legacy of World War II Veterans
On Wednesday, November 11, VetBizWeek will feature a special Veterans Day presentation introducing the Legacy Project, a new online initiative dedicated to preserving and celebrating the stories of World War II veterans. Alex Freeman, one of the project's founders and a past participant in Transition Skills Training's program, will introduce the initiative during the morning briefing.

The presentation illustrates how entrepreneurship and nonprofit leadership can help veterans turn their experience, ideas, and sense of purpose into meaningful contributions to their communities.

Helping Veterans Forge Their Own Path
Transition Skills Training's work is guided by three pillars: A Sense of Purpose, Real Connections and A Place to Call Home. Through entrepreneurship training, networking, and ongoing educational resources, the organization helps veterans and military families explore opportunities and build relationships that support their goals after military service.

VetBizWeek reflects that approach by allowing participants to choose the topics, resources and connections that are most relevant to their individual needs. Participants will also have opportunities to stay connected with Transition Skills Training and learn about upcoming educational programs and resources.
